Presidents coming into office are not able to pick the type of economy in which they hope to preside over. This President-Elect, Barrack Obama is no exception and as he is sworn in the US economy may be at or near its low, or it might be on the verge of slipping into a depression, the likes of which we have not seen in almost 80-years.
When President-Elect Barrack Obama takes office he may put into play controls that may help the economic situation or harm it. He might set policies that make the economy inefficient or that stimulate its return to prosperity. If the economy slips into depression and regardless of fault, if it happens during his term of office it will be called the "Obama Depression" and something that may cement his legacy.
How bad are things, are they overblown?
Isn't this just a normal business cycle downturn, so isn't everything going to be okay? Well, we all wish it were that easy, but really they aren't. Sure, the Bush Administration had the US economy cooking along and so, it could take a bit of a hit without completely imploding, still, with the subprime lending fallout and banking sector on top of and due to the real estate bubble burst it has really been a double whammy getting into the down cycle.
Yes, the up cycle is coming, regardless of what the government does to help out. But, what if the government does the wrong thing like raise taxes, cause small business failures or puts too much regulation on banks? This will affect credit markets for years to come, slow growth and stagnate the economy, all the while the 70 million baby boomer consumers are changing their buying habits and finishing up their lifecycle. So, things are indeed, quite serious.

Barrack obama : Is Barrack Obama an Elitist?
Sometime during the Democratic Nomination and most have already forgotten about this, Barrack Obama said something to a group of wealthy supporters in San Francisco, something about the folks in Pennsylvania toting guns and clinging to religion due to bitterness, or something to that affect. Then those who opposed Barack Obama said that statement was elitist and labeled him just that. Others who love Obama hardly understood what the problem with his comments were, and asked;
Exactly What makes Obama an elite? Is it because he was able to make something of himself?"
Well, I guess people said that he was an elitist because he graduated Ivy League, but the way I see it is that he proved America is great, a little success story. What bothers me is that he rants about inequality, and yet, he proved, with his own life that things are doing just fine. So, what is this call for change he is talking about? Another political pundit stated:
Now the second reason I find people calling Obama an elitist is because of the statement he made to some elitists in S.F. about the folks in PA being bitter, holding onto guns and religion. So, I think this is where it is coming from."
Okay, so many folks who have made become somewhat elitists, it's a perfectly logical temptation that one has to fight off, especially when other complain and complain. But Obama let's some followers hold onto the belief that they were duped, tricked, cheated by the "Man" or taken advantage of by the GOP, big business, NAFTA, white men, etc. That's upsetting because; he knows that's not true, he made it fine.
Thus, I see some hypocrisy there, and lots of political posturing and rhetoric, it's a little unnerving to watch, but if you are around politics enough you certainly see this line of lecturing and podium pushing from democrats at all levels from city hall to the white house. So those are some thoughts.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Lance_Winslow

Barrack obama : If Barrack Obama Loses the Election - Nearly a Billion Dollars Down the Drain
Prior to the Democratic National Convention, Senator Barrack Obama's campaign had spent nearly half a billion dollars to win the democratic nomination. Then as he was nominated officially, he was nearly tied in a statistical heat with Senator John McCain. The John McCain expenditures to get nominated were very miniscule compared to Barack Obama's expenditures. Indeed, it was not even close.
Senator Barrack Obama's campaign even out spent Hilary Clinton's campaign by nearly 3:1 when it was all said and done, in fact, it was the largest amount of money spent on a Presidential Campaign in US History. Actually, it was the most money every spent by any candidate in the World to become elected, not even considering just being nominated.
The ability of the Barrack Obama campaign's public relations teams, advertising folks and campaign managers was incredible. Their fundraising machine was unbelievable and the help from other groups to promote him, was also very welcomed. Of course, what if Senator Barrack Obama is not elected, what if Senator John McCain wins the election? It is possible that by then Senator Barrack Obama's campaign could have spent 1 Billion Dollars.
Now statistically, spending that level of money to get elected means his probability of succeeding is very high. And it does not appear that Senator John McCain can match his stardom or ability to raise money, so he will most likely win, unless the campaign pushes too hard, spends too much and folks get tired of all the television ads and there is some sort of backlash.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Lance_Winslow
